Gabriele d'Annunzio was a poet, writer, novelist and playwright. He was born in Pescara in 1863 to a more than wealthy family. From his earliest studies he immediately showed great interest in literature, and it was during his boarding school years that he published his first collection of poetry : "Primo Vere."
In Venice he will meet the one who will become the great love of his life, the beautiful actress Eleonora Duse. With her D'Annunzio will travel and write a great deal, inspired by the woman.
Following the World War,D'Annunzio will retire from political life and spend his last years on the villa on Lake Garda. He will die in 1938 after a life that was, indeed, inimitable.
"...Prince Hohenlohe's house.Delightful. It is St. Maurice with a small garden in front. It is small, almost a doll's house. All pink outside...."
